Even though I was completely shocked and excited after I received approval, I wasn’t feeling that hook from the show and put aside any work on it until day 17. After PAX East, I was struck with the PAX pox. I may have wasted two days of laying in bed not watching, but I sure wasn’t going to put it off for a third. I picked up right where I left off, right in the middle of the two part premiere.

I proceeded to watch three more episodes, and midway through the third Faith came home. She was furious that I was still watching My Little Pony after she had previously told me not to watch when she was around. My only real defense was that I needed to do the work, but I really just wanted to watch some more of the show. She was not happy, but too tired to complain or do anything about it and lay down beside me and watched the rest of the episode.

By the end her outright coldness towards the show had softened. I told her what Matt had said and, to my surprise, she agreed to watch episodes 3 and 19 of season two. It was an incredible relief that I wasn’t going to be judged by her while I did research for this article. If she did judge me I could always lord this over her head. In the end, she remained unconvinced of the show.

In her words, while she no longer outright hated the show, she still didn’t like it. Even with that, she still asked if she should start the first episode. I said she should and I wouldn’t mind watching from the beginning.

Later that night something incredible happened. She doesn’t like to sleep in silence and be the last one to fall asleep. We found a perfect arrangement that involves her going to sleep and me catching up on whatever tv she doesn’t like. I put on Young Justice, but she demanded that I watch My Little Pony. While I would usually be ecstatic, I wanted to watch Young Justice. I was shut down and so My Little Pony it was.
